Join us at Old Fort Jackson for Memorial Day Weekend enhanced programming! We'll have volunteers on site on Saturday, the 25th, and explore the different eras of the site's military history on Sunday and Monday, 26th-27th.
Saturday, May 25th (1862 Savannah)
9:20 - Coastal Heritage Society Resource Educators and Volunteers will offer live music by Bella Harmony Music and activities by Union Soldiers, Confederate Soldiers and Sailors, and the Ladies Gunboat Society and Women of Savannah!
10:00 -12 Pounder Cannon Firing, followed by Stations.
10:30 - Dance.
11:00 - Hear various perspectives from the Situation in Savannah and nearby in April of 1862. Relieve the Skirmish on Whitemarsh Island.
11:30 - Hear the conclusion, followed by the firing of our mighty 32 Pounder Cannon.
12:30 - Dance.
12:45 - Guard Mount.
1:15 - Mail Cail.
1:30 - Signaling and 6 Pounder Cannon Firing.
2:00 - Hardee’s Infantry Drill Presentation.
2:20 - Civil War Era Discipline
2:30 - Remember the Fallen, followed by the firing of our mighty 32 Pounder Cannon.
2:45 - Dance.
4:00 - Fort closed.

Sunday, May 26th (War of 1812 Savannah)
9:30 - Coastal Heritage Society Resource Educators will portray Regular Soldiers of the US Army and Georgia Militia Men from the War of 1812 Era while offering exciting history presentations! Learn about the construction of Savannah defenses, along with musket and heavy artillery skills.
10:00 - Smythe’s Manual Infantry Presentation.
10:30 - Stations.
11:00 - Hear various perspectives from the Situation in Savannah during the War of 1812 and Creek War. Relieve the Battle of Calabee Creek.
11:30 - Hear the conclusion of the Battle and the defense of Savannah in late 1814, followed by the firing of our mighty 24 Pounder Cannon.

1:30 - Riverboat Salute 6 Pounder Cannon Firing.

Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day)
9:30 - Stations - Coastal Heritage Society Resource Educators will portray Soldiers of the Four American Armies that served on the ground where Old Fort Jackson stands while offering exciting history presentations! Learn about the stories and skills of soldiers during the American Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War, including musket firings.
11:00 - 12 Pounder Cannon Firing.
11:30 - Remember soldiers who gave their lives in battle and witness the firing of our mighty 24 and 32 Pounder Cannon, while the American Flag is raised from half mast to full mast at Noon.
1:00 - Revolutionary War Era Infantry Presentation on the Parade.
1:30 - Riverboat Salute with 6 Pounder Cannon.
2:00 - Get an overview of the American Revolutionary War in Savannah and beyond. Relieve the Battle of Cowpens.
2:30 - 24 Pounder Cannon Firing.
4:00 - Fort closed.
This programming is included in site admission and FREE for Coastal Heritage Society members.
