About this Event
The French Library is excited to announce our new English Book Club!
We will be reading and discussing works from our new English language collection to help English speakers discover the world of Francophone literature.
Our first meeting will be Tuesday, March 17th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
We will be discussing "The Years" by Annie Ernaux, a personal narrative of the period 1941 to 2006 told through the lens of memory, impressions past and present- filled with photos, books, songs, radio, television and decades of advertising, headlines, contrasted with intimate conflicts and writing notes from six decades of diaries. Annie Ernaux was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2022.
Please read the book in its entirety and come ready to discuss with an open heart! The book club is a space for readers of all backgrounds. Previous familiarity with French literature or French language is not required. The discussion will be in English.
