Purpose
To educate and network engineering professionals in compressed air best practices.
Two Learning Tracks
Track 1: The Impact of Controls on Compressed Air System Designs
Speaker: Taylor Quackenbush
Operating a compressed air system is a trade: energy output and equipment wear-and-tear in exchange for stable pressure in a system. Variable speed drives are widely regarded as the ultimate option for energy efficiency, but are they the solution to every problem? Are we specifying systems that leave facilities exposed to the variance in consumption in the modern manufacturing environment? From options that affect individual compressor operation to system master controllers, we will discuss the factors that influence a business case for or against modern and legacy technologies.
Track 2: The Impact of Air Quality on Compressed Air System Designs
Speaker: Gerald Baron
As production processes continue to become more complex and demanding, air quality for compressed air has become a critical issue. This track will address the design considerations, applications, operating parameters, and installation requirements for compressors and air treatment systems as well as potential alternatives worthy of consideration.
Speakers
Taylor Quackenbush is the District Manager for Kaeser Compressors in the Southeast. He has been working with manufacturers to improve uptime and reduce operating costs since 2018. As a Territory Manager for Kaeser, Taylor was a two-time Presidentβs Club winner. Before joining Kaeser, he was an artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps and holds a Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Gerald Baron started his professional life forty-three years ago by betraying an honest degree in mechanical engineering (BSME, University of Massachusetts β Amherst) and instead inexplicably electing to pursue a career in technical sales. His experience includes all aspects of the compressed air business, having held a variety of technical and leadership roles with Ingersoll Rand and Kaeser Compressors, Inc. Before joining Kaeser in 2003, he created a position to oversee the technical and sales training program that was implemented both nationally and internationally by Ingersoll Rand. Gerald currently holds the position of Branch Development Manager with Kaeser, which, along with managing multiple locations throughout the U.S., his role brings him into regular contact with a wide array of the latest compressed air technologies.
