ENGAGED Workshop
About this Event

Over the course of 2025, ENGAGED, a partnership project between Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University, built a network of co-creators with the knowledge, insights and capacity to co-create and implement an evidence-informed Public Involvement in Open Research Roadmap, with agreed actions, timelines and key performance indicators.

Throughout the year, ENGAGED ran 10 Collective Intelligence Workshops with contributions from more than 150 co-creators. The workshops were held in person and online, using a wide range of creative data collection methods. The ENGAGED co-creators came from academia, community and voluntary groups and NGOs, public and civil servants, businesses as well as activists, advocates and citizen scientists.

ENGAGED launched the roadmap in early March. The roadmap is built around five clear destination themes or a more Engaged Research Ecosystem.

The roadmap destinations include:

1. Research that Reaches Everyone

2. Fair Partnership

3. Knowledge as Exchange

4. Systems That Work and People Want to Use

5. Communities Shaping Research Priorities

The ENGAGED Team will be visiting DCU to discuss the ENGAGED Open Research Roadmap on the 15th (10.00-13.00). This event will present the ENGAGED roadmap and consider the ways in which different people can become more involved in furthering the public involvement agenda over the coming five years. The event is suitable for anyone who is interested in or involved with Engaged Research, Citizen Science, PPI or Open Research. On the day, we will explore how to start using the Roadmap as a way to argue for greater public involvement in research and to consider how to link up with other partners who share that interest.
