The City of West Allis and the Community Impact Partnership & Foundation are hosting a five-session community learning series designed to help residents and business owners better understand how local government works and the many services that contribute to a thriving community. Through presentations, discussions, and opportunities to engage directly with City leaders and department staff, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the people, programs, and policies that shape daily life in West Allis.
Each session will highlight a different aspect of City government and community services, offering participants a behind-the-scenes look at how decisions are made, how services are delivered, and how residents can become more informed and engaged members of the community.
Session themes will include:
• West Allis 101: Past, Present & Policy
• Behind the Scenes: Building a City That Works
• Growing West Allis: Business, Innovation & the BID
• Social Connection & Wellness: Community Health and Lifelong Learning
• ENGAGE in Action: Driving Change Through Community & Philanthropy
The sessions will be held on Thursdays, Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24 and Oct. 1 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at West Allis City Hall, 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. Registration is open to West Allis residents and business owners and will be limited to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions will consist of presentations, Q & A, and opportunities to connect directly with City staff, community leaders, and partner organizations.
Thanks to generous community sponsors, Su Plus Two, the Community Impact Partnership & Foundation, and the City of West Allis, this workshop series is offered free of charge and a light meal is provided. Please be sure you can commit to all five sessions before registering. For additional information, contact Suzanne Singh, Community Engagement Manager, at [email protected]. When registration is full, a waitlist will be created for future ENGAGE learning opportunities.
