Kanan’s research aims to transform carbon dioxide into useful chemicals and fuels using renewable energy sources, addressing key challenges in carbon capture and utilization. With a strong background in inorganic chemistry and materials science, he leads a multidisciplinary team that combines fundamental studies with applied technologies to advance clean energy technologies.
