About this Event
Curious about energy efficiency within the private rented sector? Retrofit for Lets is a government funded project exploring the future of rented homes with landlords and tenants.
Landlords, drop in any time between 1 and 4pm for a short chat and a complimentary drink! You would then have the option of taking up a free retrofit assessment, to provide a more in-depth evaluation of energy efficiency within the property.
Sooner or later, all homes must achieve an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of ‘C’ or above to keep the UK on track to reach net zero by 2050. 16 million homes will need upgrade work in England alone.
The 20% of homes built before 1919 and further 34% built before 1964 pose the most difficult and expensive challenges. For now, the UK Government has held back on proposed changes to raise Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) for new and existing tenancies. But this is an obvious lever that can be pulled.
Many tenants are struggling with high energy costs to heat poorly performing homes placing increasing pressure on rent affordability.
Join our mission to overcome barriers to providing clean powered and cosy homes that tenants love.
