Energy Centre Seminar: Trust, Transition and Tension
About this Event
New Zealand's energy system is evolving, but the pathway forward is complex. Natural gas continues to support homes, businesses, industry and electricity reliability, even as the country works to reduce emissions and develop new energy options.
In this presentation, Richelle will explore the communication challenges that come with operating in this changing environment. Drawing on her experience leading brand, marketing and communications for Clarus, Firstgas and First Renewables, she will discuss changing public expectations, the challenge of explaining complex and often contested issues, and the role of transparency in building trust.
Through practical examples, including renewable gas initiatives and emerging technologies, the presentation will examine how communicators can navigate uncertainty, make complex energy issues more understandable, and support informed conversations about New Zealand's evolving energy system.
