Join our first action since DxE published FactoryFarmWatch.org, an interactive map and database of the 1,300+ largest factory farms in California — sharing where these operations are, how many animals they confine, the amount of greenhouse gases they emit, the consumer brands they supply, investigation footage, and more. Join the movement to end factory farming in California as Trader Joe’s continues to reject our requests to cut ties with Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry. The grocer sells Petaluma Poultry chicken under the branding “Trader Joe’s Organic, Free Range Chicken,” with the supplier’s plant code P-2882.
Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse and network of factory farms have been shown to violate California’s animal cruelty laws regarding unnecessary suffering. For example, they leave immobile chickens unable to walk to food or water and even effectively boil chickens alive if the birds miss the throat blade on the slaughter line — as the next step is entering the scalding bath, a torturous fate for anyone who is fully conscious.
Please join us Saturday, 2/28/26 from 2:30pm to 4pm as we protest outside of Trader Joe’s Riverside Drive location, continuing our calls for the grocery giant to cut ties with their chicken supplier.
