Another duck and quail shooting season is due to begin on 18 March at 8am.So many people think it was banned a while ago, especially since Labor's own Parliamentary Inquiry recommended a ban - which they ignored.
Every year thousands of ducks and quails are killed or wounded and left to die a slow painful death. Its barbaric, outdated, and disgusting. It's particularly disheartening this season since so much habitat has been lost due to bushfires, and wildlife is still out there suffering and trying to survive - or has died.
Going to a wetland is not the only way to make your voice heard.
We are taking to the streets to let people know that this atrocity is still legal and that they can step up and take action.
We will be doing outreach, and leafletting members of the public, but if thats not your thing we will have signs you can hold or you can BYO signs/noise makers/costumes/allies/snacks.
Don't worry if this is your first time, or you don't feel comfortable talking to people. We will make sure you have a role you are comfortable with.
