Encuentros Platform is a collective which supports its members in the creative process of dance, music, theater, performance, and visual artists in Amsterdam. The aim of the platform is to facilitate a space of sharing and reflection for independent makers. We meet once a month to share our works-in-progress and ideas, to give each other feedback and discuss practical issues around creating original work. The platform works horizontally, and it develops according to the needs and wishes of the participants.
'Encuentros: Open Doors' is an event organised by the platform to share the concept with others, possibly find a new home for the collective in Treehouse, and invite new members. In addition to workshops, the event includes an installation and performances by some of the current members of the Encuentros Platform, representing one arch of being part of the collective.
