Encanto tells the tale of the Madrigals, an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal — that is, every child except one, Mirabel. Mirabel loves and values her family, but remains uncomfortable with the idea that she’s different from them because she’s not special. But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.
Directed by the team behind Zootopia (Jared Bush and Byron Howard) and filled with songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Encanto has charmed and delighted audiences of all ages since its release in 2021. But now, for the first time ever, Disney has created an authorized sing-along version! With lyrics animated and presented at the bottom of the screen, join Tampa Theatre’s whole audience in celebrating the family Madrigal out loud in raucous, heartwarming song! (And we won’t tell if you want to talk about Bruno.)
This screening is held in the Historic Duncan Auditorium. This space utilizes open seating for this event; seat selection is not required.
