En Plein Air painting
About this Event
We will be Plein Air Painting urban scenery like the old masters. Alice will teach effective observational and brushwork techniques, using memorable concepts that will help you improve fast and create an accurate drawing/painting of life. Starting with a small demo, this workshop has a bundle of practical painting knowledge every beginner/intermediate should know, as well as being a relaxed session with one-on-one time for every person.
For high school students.
We will be using acrylic paint. Please wear suitable clothes and bring an apron.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Alice Xu is a realist painter working with
everyday life themes in figurative and landscape art.
Using various methods of collage and photomontage in
her process, Alice transforms mundane scenes into
something more whimsical and pleasant. She has
exhibited in various galleries, with works in many
institute collections and has won several art awards,
most notably the AGNSW Elioth Gruner Landscape
Award and Lane Cove Art Award.
Alice was also shortlisted in the Young Creatives Young Artist Awards in 2025 in the 19-25 category.
MARRICKVILLE PAVILION AND LIBRARY is accessible by lift from both the street and ground levels. The venue is accessible for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids. There is a hearing loop available.
