Please Note:
The class has a REQUIRED ORIENTATION NIGHT as listed above.
To accommodate coverage of certain topics, there will be occasional Saturday classes.
A Complete Schedule will be given out on Registration Night.
Learn the Basics of Emergency Medical Care from Life-Threatening Medical Conditions to Major Traumatic Injuries; from Adult Patients to Pediatrics. This course includes the American Heart Association's BLS/CPR Certification, Logistical Operations of EMS, and basic Anatomy/Physiology. You will finish with a foundation of and the ability to provide the Basics of Emergency Healthcare.
These skills can be the beginning step into more Advanced Courses like Advanced EMT, Paramedic, and beyond. Or you can use them in your Local Volunteer Agencies, Transport Services, or in certain Medical Facilities.
No matter your Future Plans, these are Essential Life-Saving Skills everyone should know.

Pre-Requisites:
- 17 years of age prior to the end of the course
- (NEW) Emergency Vehicle Driving (EVD) and Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Courses must be completed before Jan 7, 2025
* SCC Fire and Rescue Programs will offer an EVD and TIM course that meets the requirements on November 25th, December 3, 5, 10, 12, & 14th. Attending all dates is mandatory to meet this requirement.
- Required Assessment of Basic Reading Comprehension at or above the 11th Grade Level
(This Written Assessment will be administered during the Orientation)
Tuition is waived for members of NC Life-Saving Organizations (i.e. Fire Department, Rescue Squads, EMS, Law Enforcement)
