The Bulgarian Stop of the European Match Race Tour 2024 will take place on September 19-22 at Iskar Lake, a nature reserve located south of Sofia.
The organization handling the EMRT Stop 2 will be the Ultramarine Sailing Sports Club together with Bora Sailing with its fleet of 4 one-design Laser SB20 boats and Sofia Sail Academy hosting the event.
The sailing arena is in the southern part of Iskar Lake (30km², 815 meters above sea level), situated close to two mountains. Sailing conditions during the period of middle to late September provide various winds in the range of 5 to 25 knots usually from NW or SE. The typical oscillations are to the north of the main breeze forming along the lake. The main daily temperature is 20-25 degrees, and the water - around 22 degrees.
The event is set to be an exciting experience for both competitors and spectators - close to the land base there are good spectator opportunities to witness a close, fast-paced racing.
