The Empty Shoe Project, hosted each year by Hope On Deck, is a deeply emotional tribute to the lives lost to substance use disorder. Each pair of shoes stands where someone should be—someone who laughed, dreamed, and was deeply loved. Beside them, smiling faces and tender words tell the stories of who they were before the disease took them from us.
It’s a powerful reminder that behind every statistic is a heartbeat that once filled a home. This display is not just about loss—it’s about love, remembrance, and the hope that by breaking the silence, we can help save lives.
