About this Event
Join us for an inspiring panel featuring accomplished women in male-dominated industries. Learn about their journeys and get a behind-the-scenes look at Engineering, Manufacturing & Industrial Technologies (EMIT) facilities.
The event’s objectives are:
- To motivate young females to explore and pursue careers in male-dominant industries by sharing success stories and showcasing female role models.
- To challenge and dismantle common stereotypes and misconceptions about women in skilled trades, promoting a culture of inclusivity.
- To bring awareness of diverse career opportunities for females in skilled trades.
- To educate attendees about the education opportunities within EMIT programs.
The panel discussion will cover a range of topics, including:
- Personal journey and experiences in the skilled trades field.
- Challenges encountered and how to overcome them.
- Advice and insights for your women interested in pursuing a career in skilled trades.
- The importance of diversity and female representation in traditionally male-dominated industries.
- The panel discussion will cover a range of topics, including:
- Experience of female organizations and networking opportunities.

- Mary Polly - Electrician, Stellantis
- Mimi Nguyen - Lead Design Release Engineer, General Motors

- The event is free and open to the community (must register though)

- The event structure will consist of a short presentation about OCC and the EMIT team, a panel discussion, Q&A, and a tour of the EMIT facilities for those who are interested.
