About this Event
What is a Data Steward? How can data collaboration go beyond traditional public-private partnership models? How can we enable data re-use for public good? Join us and let’s answer these questions!
In the age of rapid datafication and AI, there is a pressing need to navigate this ever-evolving digital landscape. Data Stewards are a viable solution to help with the critical need to rethink how we manage data. Data Stewards can help with the following three pillars: integrated decision-making and support, system integration, and public engagement. By fostering responsible and effective data stewardship we aim to build robust data ecosystems that drive innovation, support policy-making, and maintain public trust.
This workshop will present the idea of the re-imagined data steward as a function that can unlock data re-use for public benefit in a systematic, sustainable and responsible way. The session will help participants to understand the data asymmetries and silos currently present in the industry to provide a new role in all types of organisations to help mitigate such silos.
The format of the event will be an interactive workshop with hands-on exercises and role-play scenarios. The general idea is to spark critical thinking about the current fragmented data ecosystem. Through engaging in role-play discussions and scenarios, we will be answering some of these critical questions together. We will be introducing fresh ideas of data stewardship and collaborative models all while engaging in a live simulation. The thematic focus will be environmental protection!
We hope to leave the room feeling inspired and ready to tackle the data problems together as a society!
