About this Event
This Skilled Trade Boot Camp will provide employers the opportunity to network with participants 18 years+ who have been pre-registered / screened for this event. Some may have their Level 1 in one of the following trades – plumbing, electrical, sheet metal, refrigeration, ventilation, or heating. These are candidates who are serious about starting a career in skilled trades.
There are two convenient times for employers to attend:
- 8:30am-9:30am - allows employers provide an overview of their business in addition to a 20-30 minute networking session with participants.
- 12:00pm-12:30pm – Employers are welcome to drop into the boot camp venue, have some lunch and interact with participants.
Employers will have a chance to learn more about Support Ontario Youth (SOY) who can support employers by alleviating the hiring and administrative burden so that you as the employer, can continue to focus on training, knowing you’re fully supported by an organization looking out for the best interest of both parties. In addition, a registered employer of SOY will have access to:
- Support Ontario Youth’s employers have the ability to bid on jobs that require more manpower by being able to access a pool of apprentices.
- Support Ontario Youth has access to a network of employers, so you do not have to worry about not being able to provide all the competencies to your apprentice in order for them to complete.
- Support Ontario Youth can assist employers on what financial aids are available to them to help with training a new apprentice.
- Support Ontario Youth employers are part of a network of like-minded business individuals to help troubleshoot, discuss ideas, and get trusted advice and guidance. This support is essential, especially for employers new to training apprentices.
- Support Ontario Youth can save you time, save you money and most of all help grow your business while growing the industry!
- Access to quality candidates.
