Vermont musician Emma Cook is releasing an indie-folk album for our times. Of the Morning, her first solo album in over a decade, offers some of her most vulnerable and finely crafted work to date. Emma is known for her expressive vocal range, jazz-inflected chord choices, and engaging live shows. With “gorgeous, vivid songwriting” (Grace Potter) Emma writes about both the grand and the intimate moments that define a full life.
Written during a transformational stretch in her life - turning thirty in the early days of the global pandemic, becoming a mother, and reckoning with a rapidly changing world - these songs weave themes of moon cycles, forbidden fruit, motherhood, climate anxiety, and the everyday beauty in between. Of the Morning is, in Cook’s words, “a tender chronicle about growing the f** up.”
Thirteen Moons, the first single off the album, centers around Cook's Carole King influenced playing and “emits a glow and a tender exchange of insight. This track opens a new chapter in Emma's career as a writer” and is “a joyous grin, parallel to Maggie Rogers or Phoebe Bridgers but standing in a light all her own” (Earmilk).
A “formidable songwriter and instrumentalist” (Seven Days VT), Emma grew up in the Michigan folk and traditional music scene, learning guitar and piano before she was a teenager. Her sound blends the folk, roots, pop, and rock that raised her into something unmistakably her own.
From 2013–2019, she toured throughout New England and the Midwest with her folk-funk band Questionable Company, playing festivals, dive bars, and barns. The group earned a loyal following and critical praise for their energy and musicianship - “leveraging Emma’s incomparably smooth vocals to create something that sounds close to magic” (The Deli Magazine).
Since then, Emma has continued to grow as a solo artist, most recently opening for Katie Pruitt and Deb Talan, and performing at the legendary folk venue Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. In late 2024, she completed her first crowdfunding campaign, raising over $15K to fund Of the Morning. With humor, honesty, and a “rich, evocative voice” (Guitar Girl Magazine), Emma continues to hone her craft and open her heart, connecting with folks along the way.

Reid Parsons is a Vermont-born singer-songwriter whose music blends soul, folk, blues, and jazz-inflected Americana into something both grounded and expansive. Her debut full-length album, Back to Back, released in April 2025, has been praised for its “dynamic and eclectic approach to Americana” and described as “a tasteful tapestry of folk, soul, and chamber pop.” Written, arranged, and produced by Parsons, the record moves fluidly between intimate ballads and groove-driven full-band tracks, creating what critics have called an “intimate conversation” rich with emotional depth and warmth.
Influenced by artists like Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, and Frazey Ford, Parsons brings a fearless, genre-blurring sensibility to her songwriting and performances. Whether solo or backed by a band, her shows are marked by expressive vocals, sharp musicianship, and what one outlet called “architectural folk”—songs that balance subtle complexity with soul, space, and resonance.

Danny & The Parts is an Americana/honky-tonk band from Burlington, Vermont, centered around songwriter Danny LeFrancois, known for their revolving cast of local musicians, twangy Telecaster guitar, and atmospheric sound, blending folk-country with indie-rock influences, evolving from bar band roots into a more refined unit releasing projects like Dancing on the Radio.
