Run For The Kids (formerly The Crayola Classic) is an annual 10K/5K Run & Walk held each year on the Saturday before Memorial Day. The event is sponsored by Emile and Brookes' Kids 501c3 and New Day Mississippi 501c3 and provides clothes and school supplies to Region 8 kids in Rankin County. These are the neediest of children in Rankin County and oftentimes, we are their only means of clothing and supplies for school. The race is operated totally by volunteers and nearly 100% of the money we raise is spent on purchasing clothing and school supplies. The Emile and Brooke Craig Memorial Run For The Kids 5K/10K is named in honor of Emile and Brooke Craig. Emile and Brookes Kids 501c3 was founded in memory of Emile Craig, a dedicated long-time employee of Region 8 Mental Health, and his wife, Brooke. Both were passionate advocates for Region 8 children in need. Following their passing, we have continued their legacy through our nonprofit, which was officially incorporated in Mississippi in 2022.
