The Chambersburg Ballet presents its Emerging Artists Showcase, which will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2pm in The Wood Center at the Capitol Theatre. Students and company dancers will perform a variety of pieces ranging from classical to modern styles, featuring solos, ensembles and pas de deuxes. Several pieces are choreographed by students or company dancers while others will feature variations from existing classical ballets. Friends, family and the public are invited to drop-in or stay for the entire event to see these young dancers express their creativity and energy through dance. This event is open and free to the public.
The Emerging Artists Showcase is a fundraiser for the Chambersburg Ballet Guild, a 501-c 3 non profit. Students will be raising funds online using a crowdsource platform called givebutter. Donations can be made here. By supporting this event you are helping to keep the Chambersburg Ballet affordable and accessible to both dancers and audience members alike. Ticket sales and tuition cover approximately half of production expenses, and your support is needed in order to keep ticket prices affordable and the arts available to as many as possible. The Chambersburg Ballet puts on several performance runs throughout the year, including The Nutcracker, a winter production and spring performance.
Established in 1999, the ballet provides classical ballet education, training and performance art in Franklin County. The ballet has been an anchor tenant of the Capitol Theatre since it started and has its studios above its prominent marquee. The Chambersburg Ballet Guild operates the Chambersburg Ballet which includes a school for ages 3 through adult and a pre-professional dance performance company. The dance company is open to dancers of all ages and those outside of the ballet school. The ballet produces four shows a year and several outreach performances.
