About StrawberryStory

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Inspired by this philosophy, Wai Yee began her journey of learning the ukulele, while Ivni continued to develop his skills on the guitar.

Approximately one year ago, Wai Yee commenced her ukulele studies under the guidance of teacher Daniel Purnomo. She has since developed an understanding of chord formations and melody, and has started to explore the complexities of music theory—a subject that continues to both challenge and fascinate her. Hands-on practice with the ukulele has brought a mix of frustration and enjoyment, especially when learning chord melody, which involves integrating chords and melody into a single arrangement. Additionally, mastering rhythm patterns has presented its own set of challenges.

Today, Wai Yee is occasionally able to accompany her own singing during busking sessions and live performances. Ivni, who has several years of guitar experience, initially had limited knowledge of music theory. Since beginning lessons with teacher Daniel, he has gained the ability to add complexity to simple chord progressions through a deeper theoretical understanding. He continues to work on memorizing music theory concepts and finger placements on the fretboard. Recently, he has also started to combine chords and basslines in his playing.

Together, Wai Yee and Ivni form StrawberryStory, performing with vocals, ukulele, and guitar. Over the past year, they have applied the knowledge and skills they have acquired to continually enhance their performances.

About Bryan Ang

Bryan LL Melodies is a music producer, composer, cover artist, and pianist from Singapore. He is currently training in Music Production and Audio Engineering at the School of Music and the Arts (SOMA), and is part of the ART:DIS Mentorship Programme.

Specialising in J-pop and AniSong covers, Bryan has performed at major Japanese-themed festivals such as AFA Creators Super Fest and the upcoming TripleFest. His dedication to Japanese-influenced music shapes his sound, while drawing inspiration from Western music production styles.

Bryan has collaborated with virtual singers on notable projects, including a cover of Snow Halation from Love Live! School Idol Project, and work with Stellarium - an online idol/band project.

Bryan’s mission is to support V-singers and emerging artists, helping them gain a foothold in the music industry through production support for vocal talent, film, games, and anime-inspired projects.

About Sky Shen

For Sky Shen, music is about telling stories and creating a shared lived experience with others. Having performed prolifically for audiences including Super 24, the Istana, and numerous corporate and social service events, Sky has been pursuing a journey of releasing his own original works to discuss topics close to his heart.

In 2022, he released his debut EP, "Wheel You Love Me?", about romantic love from the perspective of a person with disabilities. In 2024, he wrote and performed "March On", the official theme song for the Singapore Team of para-athletes that year.

His newest works in progress include an EP about mental wellness, entitled "The Little Critters". His mentorship under Jasmine Pinder-Choe is focused on thinking beyond his usual work processes to explore wider, inter-disciplinary artistic possibilities and diverse styles. This has led to bigger ideas, wilder dreams, and a collaborative duet with fellow singer-songwriter Odelia Rei.

He looks forward to sharing with you these works in progress and hopes to find comrades who can support him in making these visions an impactful reality.
