About this Event

Emergency Preparedness: Building Resilient Communities is a comprehensive three-day training designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. Through interactive instruction, real-world scenarios, and hands-on activities, participants will learn the principles of emergency management, hazard identification, risk assessment, personal and family preparedness, organizational continuity planning, disaster response coordination, and community resilience.

The course explores both natural and human-caused disasters, emphasizing preparedness strategies that reduce risk, strengthen response capabilities, and support long-term recovery. Participants will gain an understanding of emergency planning, resource management, communication during crises, volunteer coordination, and the roles of local, state, and federal emergency management agencies.

Upon completion, participants will leave with practical tools, actionable preparedness plans, and increased confidence to protect themselves, their families, workplaces, and communities before, during, and after an emergency.

Ideal for: Community leaders, nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, housing professionals, emergency volunteers, neighborhood associations, educators, workforce development participants, and individuals seeking to strengthen personal and community preparedness.
