If you hike, camp, or recreate outdoors with your dog, this class is for you!
Snake River Quail Forever is hosting Dr. Melody Ward, gundog owner and emergency veterinarian at WestVet: Meridian. She will be talking about common dog injuries and first aid in the field to save your outdoor recreation companion. Topics include:
- basic health assessment
- first aid kit supplies
- wound care and bandaging
- heat stroke
- rattlesnake envenomation
- seizures/hypoglycemia
- allergic reactions
- and more!
There will be time for questions and practice bandaging for those who wish to stay at the end of the program.
A local trapping organization will be teaching all interested attendees how to release your dog from traps and give you hands-on training on how to do it. If you venture into the wilds with your pup, you need this training.
Please leave your pups at home. We will not be taking a break for lunch, so consider bringing snacks or a bag lunch to eat during the presentation. Restrooms and a drinking fountain will be available.
There will also be raffle tickets for sale and raffle items such as a Scheel’s gift card, Louie’s Alaskan Fish gift box, and more!
