Learn to identify ash trees, and an invasive insect that attacks them.
About this Event

Join us for an informative workshop about ash trees and emerald ash borer! Native Oregon ash trees are very common near streams and wetlands. Ornamental ash tree species, like flowering ash and green ash, are common in urban settings as street trees. All species of ash tree are susceptible to emerald ash borer, an invasive insect that will decimate ash trees in Oregon.

We will cover ash tree identification and emerald ash borer identification, including both ID of the insect itself and ID of the signs and symptoms the trees display when infested. We will talk about the current known areas of infestation and steps to take if you have ash trees.

This event will be held outdoors, so check the weather and dress appropriately!

This event is free, but registration is required. We will provide refreshments and information. If you have any questions, please contact Brooke Karasch, Yamhill SWCD Outreach Coordinator, at [email protected] or 971-421-3537.
