Join us for a unique workshop with master Romanian embroiderer Anca Dragoe to celebrate the art of Romanian embroidery. In a cozy, intimate setting, you’ll learn about the history and techniques of this traditional craft and create your own embroidered symbol, adding a personalized touch to a Kafi Folk tunic dress made from authentic Romanian white cotton fabric. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with tea, coffee, and homemade cakes as you connect with heritage, creativity, and community.
What awaits you:
🪡Introduction to Romanian Embroidery: Discover the rich history and cultural significance of traditional Romanian embroidery. Anca will share stories and insights into how each symbol carries centuries of wisdom, history, and meaning.
🪡Learning the Craft: Learn the basics of Romanian embroidery from Anca Dragoe, a passionate master embroiderer who specializes in creating traditional Romanian blouses. With her guidance, you’ll craft your own embroidered symbol, blending tradition with personal expression.
🪡Personalizing Your Tunic Dress - Once your embroidered symbol is complete, you will sew your design onto a beautifully crafted Kafi Folk tunic dress, made from authentic Romanian white cotton fabric. It will become a cherished piece, symbolizing your creativity and connection to heritage. (please note: Our tunic dress is suitable for S-L sizes like all our Kafi Folk pieces and only your preferred height is requested on booking - see drop down options below).
🪡Tea, coffee, and homemade cakes - during the workshop there will be a variety of refreshments to enjoy homemade by Maxine.

Specializing in traditional Romanian blouses, her work celebrates sustainable fashion and the timeless beauty of handcrafted pieces. For Anca, embroidery is not just a craft but a meditative practice that nurtures her creative spirit and strengthens her identity. Through her work, she aims to inspire younger generations to appreciate the stories, values, and pride embedded in every stitch, fostering a deeper sense of belonging and identity.
