Embodied Photography Workshop
About this Event
The first hour of the session will look at artists who work with their bodies in photography, using it as the home of their research. The second hour of the workshop will be dedicated to taking photos with your phones while walking near the gallery. Many people spend a lot of time in their heads, and art – especially photography, can be a powerful way to reconnect with the body: focusing on it, or reacting to it.
Ariana has 20 years of experience in photography and feminist magazine management, as an ongoing project for more than 15 years, and Mariana is a multidisciplinary artist based in Liverpool whose work focuses on community-based creative practice and researching home as body and in displacement.
They will offer a possible second session to reflect on the results if the group is interested. This will be part of the Home and Away workshops supported by Arts Council England, exploring different ideas of the word home. In this case they’ll focus on home as the body.
The session will be open for anyone interested with capacity limits according to the space.
Everyone welcome. All you need is your mobile phone camera!
