Join Dr. Karah Charette, PT and pelvic health expert, for a transformative 90-minute workshop dedicated to the intricate anatomy and profound somatic experience of the pelvic bowl. This session will guide participants through an exploration of the joints, ligaments, and muscles that form the pelvic floor, fostering a deeper understanding of this vital area of the body.

We will delve into the three key organs housed within the pelvic bowl—the bladder, uterus (for those with uteruses), and rectum—inviting you to connect with these spaces on a cellular and embodied level. Through guided movement, anatomical insights, and mindfulness practices, you will learn how to engage and activate your pelvic region, enhancing your overall awareness and connection to your body.

Your Facilitator:

Dr. Karah Charette is originally from Buffalo, NY and received a B.A. in Biology and Dance from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University. A dancer for more than 20 years, Karah believes in the power of movement and its connection to expression and the human experience. Karah is also a 200 hour registered yoga teacher after training in Ashtanga Vinyasa style in Thailand. She is certified in classic and contemporary mat and reformer Pilates techniques. Karah is currently studying Body-Mind Centering® and Authentic Movement with Mary Lou Seereiter. She focuses on embodied anatomy, physiology, and embryology to help bring a balance of cerebral and somatic. She believes somatics helps us create capacity in our inner world so that we can bring more presence and authenticity to our outer world.

Preparation:

Wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement, and bring a journal for reflections if desired. Bring a yoga mat, pillow, or blanket so that you are comfortable lying on the floor. Please arrive early and get settled in so that we can begin on time.
