A two-day embodied leadership lab at UC Berkeley's I-House where diverse leaders practice presence, courage and connection across difference
About this Event

A two-day embodied leadership laboratory for people shaping movements, organizations, communities, and culture.

Different cultures. Different identities. Different ways of moving through the world. One shared practice of becoming more courageous, connected, and alive.

Embodied Leaders: Catalysts in Motion brings together leaders, organizers, artists, advocates, entrepreneurs, students, culture-makers, and community builders for an experience that moves leadership out of the head and into lived practice.

This is not another workshop about leadership. It is a place to practice it.

Through movement, somatic exploration, reflective dialogue, creative practice, and genuine human connection, participants explore how we lead when certainty disappears, how we stay present across difference, and how we build the trust and resilience that meaningful change requires.

Leadership begins with how we show up.

Grounded in the CATALYST Framework, the laboratory develops capacities conventional leadership programs often overlook: presence, relational intelligence, embodied courage, adaptability, resilience, and the ability to remain connected across difference.

We don’t ask everyone to move, communicate, participate, or lead in the same way.

We begin with the premise that human difference carries intelligence.

Our differences - of culture, race, age, gender, identity, experience, perspective, and ways of moving through the world - become part of the laboratory itself, expanding how we understand power, collaboration, creativity, belonging, and leadership.

Come as you are. Move as you are. Lead from there.

Hosted at International House at UC Berkeley, Catalysts in Motion is intentionally multicultural, multigenerational, and radically inclusive.

Movement can mean dancing, breathing, gesturing, speaking, listening, witnessing, imagining, or simply being present. There is no correct pace or way to participate.

The experience is designed from the beginning to create multiple pathways for participation, expression, connection, and belonging.

Participants leave not simply with new ideas, but with something harder to acquire: a deeper capacity to know themselves, connect across difference, navigate uncertainty, and turn presence into courageous action.

Because movements don’t change the world through strategy alone.

They change through people who know how to move- within themselves, with one another, and together.
