About this Event
We often think about Canada as being a land of freedom, a country where everyone can be free. It is the reason that many have chosen to come to Canada. Many people would be surprised to know that this was not always possible for all people. In this presentation Rosemary Sadlier will discuss freedom from enslavement, who had freedom, who did not and who has freedom now. She will also talk about how to preserve freedom and how individuals can get involved.
Rosemary Sadlier is an author, historian, social justice advocate, Order of Ontario recipient, and an international speaker on Black History, anti-racism and women’s issues. She was the president of the Ontario Black History Society for 22 years.
