Forget traditional sleighs and slow-moving reindeer — Santa's workshop has officially entered the racing business!
This Christmas, the elves are recruiting a new team of young engineers to help them design, build and race the fastest delivery vehicles the North Pole has ever seen.
In this action-packed 3-hour workshop at Makerbay, you'll step into the shoes of an elf engineer and take on the ultimate festive fabrication challenge!
Starting with a reference CAD design, you'll create your very own racing car chassis, experimenting with different shapes, structures and designs to maximise speed and performance.
Next, bring your design to life using laser-cutting technology, then assemble your wooden components into a fully functioning, rubber-band-powered racing machine.
Give your creation a festive twist! Will you build a streamlined sleigh, a reindeer-inspired racer or a turbocharged present delivery vehicle?
Once your car is ready, it's time for the ultimate showdown — the North Pole Grand Prix!
Test your engineering skills, fine-tune your racer and compete against fellow makers to see whose creation can cross the finish line first.
