I am a practicing Consultant Shoulder Physiotherapist based in Manchester with extensive multi-sector experience in the MSK, orthopaedic and sporting sectors including the NHS, private practice, TASS, University performance programmes & elite sports clubs. I hold a 1st Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy, A Post-Graduate Diploma in Orthopaedic medicine and an MSc with distinction in Advanced MSK Physiotherapy Practice. I am an active member of BESS and my clinical experience ranges from post operative rehabilitation through to performance screening & return to play testing alongside the assessment and management of both traumatic & atraumatic shoulder pain presentations. I work closely with leading upper limb orthopaedic consultants and deliver guest lectures at numerous specialist conferences. Over the past 19 years I have built strong professional relationships both locally and Nationally (through teaching, lecturing, mentoring) and provide consulting services to elite UK Institute supported athletes (GB able-bodied & para-athletes) and professional sports clubs (including Premiere league football clubs). On top of my clinical case load I am also actively involved in shoulder research, run online and face to face courses & provide bespoke online mentoring services internationally. My experience as a former elite dual-career athlete representing both Great Britain and Scotland, combined with my professional experience as a physiotherapist, underpins my genuine passion for “future proofing” my clients to ensure participation in their chosen sports or daily activities to maximum effect and with minimal setbacks.
