Music Maker Foundation and the Town of Carrboro, N.C. proudly present Elizabeth Cotten Freight Train Blues, a series of live concerts every Friday evening between May 15 and June 12, 2026 at Carrboro Town Commons!

These concerts honor the legacy of Carrboro-born folk and blues legend Elizabeth “Libba” Cotten, showcasing artists from across the Carolina Piedmont (and beyond!) who embody the breadth and depth of American roots music.
Bring your picnic, lawn chairs and blankets for five FREE evenings of live music on the lawn. All ages welcome. Food and drink will be available for purchase from local vendors. Public parking is available and free in downtown Carrboro.
The series is made possible with support from The Forests at Duke, North Carolina Public Radio – WUNC, and the North Carolina Arts Council.
