Join us on Thursday 26 September for the first of the CIPD Western Region events for 2024/25.
This event will provide an overview of generative AI, specifically in the context of the workplace. It will discuss how organisations can harness the value of generative AI while ensuring employees are empowered. Key topics include the opportunities AI offers, the range of AI tools available, and the trends in AI usage in professional settings. It will also focus on the legal implications of the use of AI, the new AI act. Governance and employment.
We will be exploring the role of Human Resources in adapting to AI, current applications of AI in the workplace, and the potential for AI to free up time for more high-value tasks.
Speakers
Judith Curran, Mason, Hayes & Curran
Judith is of Counsel in the Employment & Benefits team at Mason Hayes & Curran and is a dual qualified employment lawyer in Ireland and the UK.
A Galway native, Judith worked in the UK for over 20 years specialising in employment law. Judith provides advice on a broad range of employment law matters including discrimination, dismissals, protected disclosures, employee disputes, redundancy, mergers, acquisitions and TUPE.
Judith acts for clients in technology, financial services, hospitality, leisure, facilities management, manufacturing, health and charitable sectors.
As a dual qualified lawyer, Judith can provide advice on employment matters in Ireland or the UK.
Martin Ham, EY
Martin is a Senior Manager in EY’s People Consulting practice in the Dublin office with 25 years’ experience in HR management & transformation. Martin specialises in supporting clients accelerate the use of technology AI and other digital tools in the workforce to improve performance, support and experience. Martin holds an International MBA from Manchester Business School along with an advanced diploma in Personal Leadership & Executive Coaching. Martin has worked In Ireland, UK and Europe across Energy & Assets, Financial services and Public Sector organisations.
