Day 1
🕑: 08:00 AM - 09:30 AM
The Science of Reading: Teaching the Brain, Not the Slides
Host: Holly Ehle
Info: Before Wi-Fi, Smartboards, and one-to-one devices, learning was hands-on, oral, and deeply human. In this session, we’ll explore the neuroscience behind reading development and why the brain thrives on interaction, explicit instruction, and active engagement—not passive slide decks. Walk away with brain-based strategies that reduce cognitive overload, increase retention, and put students—not screens—at the center of literacy instruction.
🕑: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Back to the Basics of Hands-On Learning and Student Engagement
Host: Holly Ehle
Info: Many old school classrooms understood something powerful: kids learn best when they move, collaborate, build, and create. In this session, you’ll discover how to design high-engagement units and classroom transformations that are developmentally appropriate, socially rich, and academically rigorous. Leave with practical frameworks for creating immersive learning experiences that strengthen both content mastery and student connection.

Reading, Writing, And Arithmetic: Bootcamp Basics
Host: Mr. Greg
Info: We ask kids to read books, write sentences, and solve problems… before we’ve actually built the skills that make those things possible.
In this session, I’ll walk you through our TKS BOOTCAMP— the routines, pacing, and lesson structure we use to systematically build phonics and number sense so learning becomes easier instead of harder. This isn’t centers, worksheets, or guessing strategies. It’s explicit teaching, repetition with purpose, and engagement that keeps kids successful.
You’ll see how phonics and math fluency grow together, how we keep every student participating, and how short, focused daily practice leads to huge growth.
You’ll leave understanding what to teach, how to teach it, and why it works — plus how to implement it immediately without overhauling your entire day.

The Schoolhouse Startup Plan-Back To School Basics
Host: Mr. Greg
Info: The first weeks of school decide how the entire year is going to feel… and most of us were never actually taught what to do during it. We decorate, we panic-plan, we jump into curriculum — and then spend October trying to fix it.
In this session, I’ll walk you step-by-step through exactly what I do from the moment students enter the room through those first few weeks of school. We’ll cover classroom setup, organization, routines, procedures, lessons, and activities that teach kids how school works before we ever worry about standards and worksheets.
You’ll leave with a realistic, day-by-day plan that builds independence, prevents behavior problems, and creates a calm, happy classroom — without staying up all night or making 400 labels.
🕑: 02:30 PM - 04:00 PM
