About this Event
As battery technology advances, the need for consistent quality and safety across operations has never been greater. This presentation will explore the “Trust but Verify” approach to battery reliability, focusing on rigorous verification practices that ensure cell integrity and mitigate latent defects. Topics include the evolving challenges in sourcing reputable cells, identifying quality inconsistencies, and recognizing the implications of chemistry and structural changes on safety. Through insights and real-world examples, we’ll examine why continuous testing and verification are critical to maintaining safety standards and reliability in battery operations, from initial cell selection through deployment.
Mike has worked in testing for over 15 years with experience in aerospace, energy, automotive, and electrification. His years of insights and wide testing experience, allows collaborative approach and ensures that the design intent and product is fit for purpose and safe for use. With experience as a test technician and engineer as well as leading teams, Mike is an expert at battery testing. Specializing in automotive batteries but understanding how to validate systems across multiple end markets, Mike provides a hands-on, experienced-based approach to systems validation.
