Over 30 years ago, the Western New York Perinatal Bereavement Network, Inc. was established to support families coping with the profound grief of losing a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. In 2010, we officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Families facing perinatal loss often feel isolated and unsupported, and we are committed to changing that. Today, we serve as a vital resource for families across the eight counties of Western New York, helping them heal throughout a journey that lasts a lifetime.
This year marks our 11th Elegant Evening to Remember Gala, a special event where we honor exceptional individuals. These healthcare professionals and community members, nominated by families, have gone above and beyond to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care. Their dedication has had a lasting impact on the lives of those grieving, and we are deeply grateful for their service.
Our 2025 Honorees include:
Doctors of the Year:
Dr. Heather Link – Maternal Fetal Medicine, Oishei Children’s Hospital
Dr. Sarah Wiese – Audubon Women’s Medical Associates, PC – Millard Fillmore Hospital
Dr. Catherine Falkner – Retired, OBGYN Associates of WNY – Mercy & Sister’s Hospitals
Nurses of the Year:

Erin Hafner, RN – South Buffalo Mercy Hospital
Perinatal & Pediatric Advocacy Award:

The evening will feature an award ceremony, cocktail hours (at the beginning and end of the evening), dinner, raffles, and a silent auction.
