Electronic Waste Recycling, Bulk Item Disposal and Secure Document Destruction Event

Elgin residents are invited to an electronic waste recycling, bulk item disposal and secure document destruction event hosted by the City of Elgin and LRS from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 at the City of Elgin Public Works facility, located at 1900 Holmes Road. A valid Illinois driver's license or state ID showing an Elgin address is required to participate.
Entry for electronic waste recycling and bulk item disposal is $20 per vehicle, payable by credit card only. Cash is not accepted.
Large wood or metal television consoles require a special fee of $40. If you bring this type of console along with other bulk items, electronics or document shredding, a $40 console fee is added to the standard $20 vehicle fee, for a total of $60. If it is your only item, the standard $20 fee does not apply.
Secure document shredding is free if it is your only service.
