What is E-Farms? Four Pacific Northwest-based nonprofits, Sustainable Northwest, Forth, Wy’East RC&D, and Bonneville Environmental Foundation, launched the E-Farms program to bring electric farm equipment to farms, forests, ranches, and other operations across the Pacific Northwest. Puget Sound Energy is partnering with the E-Farms program on an agricultural electrification demonstration that will provide outreach about emerging electric technologies related to farming and establish a ‘lending library’ in 2026 to provide access to electric agricultural equipment within the PSE service territory.
This program is an important test case to explore electric farm equipment’s best uses and analyze growth opportunities while building knowledge, access, and adoption of electric farm equipment to help farmers save money and reduce on-farm emissions.
Ride and drive opportunities will be available for the following:
- Monarch MK-V Electric Tractor (40-70hp, the first driver-optional fully electric tractor, with up to 14 hours of run time. Comes with bi-directional charging.)
- Polaris Ranger XP Kinetic Ultimate Electric Utility Vehicle(A premium electric UTV lots of power and torque. Offered in 40 and 80-mile range versions.)
- Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Pickup Truck (An all-electric version of America’s top-selling vehicle in the U.S. Comes with extended range and heavy tow package, and bi-directional charging.)
