Are you looking for queer community, friends, or lovers? @biya.biya.productions presents ELDEST DAUGHTER 4 ELDEST DAUGHTER, a night of sapphic sounds and connections, on February 22 at Dorothy!
Come meet and mingle with fellow eldest daughters and those who identify with that ambitious, care-centered, big love ethos we all crave.

• Sounds, words and lo-fi existential dream-punk spirituals mixed like a sonic collage by drea the vibe dealer
• Black American and pan-Asian musical tradition performance, paired with the visual hypnosis of multi-disciplinary dance by Lady RAV
• Choose-your-own-adventure mixer
• A sapphic shoppable mini-market

Doors at 6pm with performances starting at 7pm. Mixer to follow! Dorothy remains open until 11pm.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $17 at the door.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Radia Ali, also known as Noori, is a multidisciplinary performing artist, poet, educator, and fire dancer whose work blends South Asian classical and folk dance with belly dance, flamenco, samba, and burlesque. Drawing on experiences growing up across Asia and Europe, she creates fusion performances using props such as silk veils, fire fans, and swords to tell cross-cultural stories of personal and collective liberation. Radia has performed at venues including Electric Forest, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and Old Town School of Folk Music, performed with Egyptian indie artist NAXÖ, and teaches movement, fusion dance, and fire performance.

Dr. Aliah Ajamoughli, PhD is a Syrian American ethnomusicologist, cellist, educator. Her musical style intertwines seemingly two opposing worlds: the folk tunes of her fatherland Syria with medleys of her Alabama upbringing. This blending of bluegrass and maqam sounds the necessity of revolution, joy, and hope across global systems of oppression.

Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Vita has been surrounded by the power of art since childhood. Throughout her life, she has been influenced by sound waves from many generations and worlds, and with that influence came the desire to reflect and embody the times she has encountered. Their sound is a musical alchemy, ranging from jazz to metal, classical to punk, and anything else that comes in their path and creates vibration, not just in the musical sense, but also in the world at large.

drea the vibe dealer coined their practice "art conjure" and music offerings "sonic collages" – sounds, words and "lo-fi existential dream-punk spirituals" woven together to tell a story, a meeting place of inner child work, shadow work and ancestral reconnection for the Black and Brown radicals and punks. drea will be sharing selections from their latest lo fi project “THE GRRRIOT TAPES: Incantations for night to day” an acoustic collection of Blues tinged Grunge channels from the Great Mothers.

Yasmin “Yasi” Mikhaiel is the founder of BIYA BIYA Productions, a Creative Agency and Production House serving local diasporic Chicago artists through cultural workshops, concerts, and arts management. They produce experiences that welcome cross-cultural exchange and collaboration without shame in community spaces.
