About this Event
At an unprecedented moment in the nation's history, Canadians across the country are responding to escalating threats to their sovereignty with a crescendo of national solidarity.
From proudly celebrating CanCon to "buying Canadian," citizens are finding big and small ways to make statements of resistance to the threats of tariffs, annexation and more being levied by their closest neighbour.
But with this swelling show of national pride come pressing questions. What are the key economic and cultural implications of the U.S. government's growing hostility? With such a long history of partnership between the two countries, how can Canada most strategically position itself amidst changing political tides? How do we best meet this moment, as individuals and as a country?
Elamin Abdelmahmoud, Stephen Marche and Tanya Talaga speak with journalist Michelle Shephard about some of the most urgent issues affecting Canada's political, economic and cultural landscape today.
