We are proud to host a talk with award-winning journalist Elaine Weiss, author of the much-praised The Women’s Hour. In her new book, Spell Freedom: The Underground Schools that Built the Civil Rights Movement, Weiss returns with the remarkable story — masterfully told — of four activists whose audacious plan to restore voting rights to Black Americans laid the groundwork for the Civil Rights Movement. Co-hosted by the SPLC Civil Rights Memorial Center.
