Argentine-American Short Film Screening and Q&A: "EL ÚLTIMO TRAMO"

Join us for a special screening of EL ÚLTIMO TRAMO, an Argentine-American short film about addiction, recovery, and the power of community, directed by Dominick Cura.

This in-person screening happens ahead of the film’s online release on YouTube on March 31, giving you an exclusive first look!

Free admission — seating is limited, so please RSVP to secure your spot.

Shot on location at Vencer Para Vivir, the rehabilitation center that inspired it in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the film follows a recovered addict who returns to the center that helped save his life. When a fellow patient runs away, he sets out to find him, hoping to bring him back before it’s too late.

Inspired by lead actor Lucas Fernandez’s own experiences with addiction, the film marks his first time acting on screen. It also features real residents of the rehabilitation center, as well as Lucas’s own son, creating a fictional story deeply rooted in real lives and lived experience.

The film addresses the stigma too often associated with addiction while exploring the sacrifices required for recovery and the compassion needed to support those struggling. It’s a bittersweet yet hopeful story that speaks to a universal reality and encourages empathy and understanding.

After the screening, stay for a Q&A hosted by filmmaker Isabella Torrance, who will discuss the making of EL ÚLTIMO TRAMO with the film’s director and co-writer, Dominick Cura.

Please note: There are multiple venues at The Broadwater, the screening will take place in .
