El Tango de la Gente Milonga

This month we are excited and delighted to welcome TDJ Michele Tedder to El Tango de la Gente for the first time. To many, Michele will need no introduction, having been involved with Tango West (based in Bristol) in the organisation of events since the late 1990's. She developed her special feel for traditional Tango music thanks to her interactions with many dancers and musicalizadores (DJ's) from Buenos Aires, and her DJ'ing style reflects the feel of authentic music played at legendary venues in that city. Currently Michele runs and DJs at the successful and well-loved monthly afternoon Milonga "Esquina de Tango" at the Redland Club in Bristol.
Doors open 7.15pm.
If you have not been to one of our events before, you can expect a spacious and modern hall with social seating at one end and an excellent wooden dance floor. The milonga format is traditional: music in tandas of three with cortinas. For the comfort and well-being of everyone, we encourage observation of the traditions and courtesies of Argentine Tango.
Everyone is welcome, whether experienced milonguero/a, or just starting out.
We use a good quality sound system with a speaker in each corner of the pista, because we want to be sure that dancers can always hear the music clearly. Tea and water are provided and there will be a selection of cakes and nibbles. You are of course also very welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. The venue has its own large car park.
