About this Event
Join LAWAβs Natural Resources Management team to help protect LAβs natural biodiversity in the LAX Dunes. The LAX Dunes are the largest remaining fragment of the southern coastal dune ecosystem in Los Angeles. This precious natural resource is home to the endangered El Segundo Blue Butterfly and hundreds of other California native plants and animals. As a volunteer, you will help restore this ecosystem and expand the habitat of the El Segundo Blue. You will also have an opportunity to observe the wonders of the dunes up close.
Volunteer activities include:
- Transplanting native plants
- Watering native plants
Please review the FAQs below to learn more about what you should bring on the day of the event and where to park. Additional links and information will be included in the confirmation email.
Volunteers will be presented with light refreshments and giveaways as a show of our appreciation as we wrap up this project!
We hope to see you soon!
