El Librotazo 2026
About this Event
El Librotazo, the Big Book Party, will take place 5-7:30 p.m. on July 14 at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds (10300 Courthouse Road). Every child can choose up to five books to keep. That’s right: Every child from birth through high school will get books for their home libraries. That’s why this is a big book party!
There is no cost to attend, take home books, or enjoy fun and food at El Librotazo. Thanks to the support from the Chesterfield Education Foundation, Dominion Energy, Sentara Health Plans, Anthem, HappyKidz, Fayad Law, the Diaz Group, Las Abogadas RVA, and the Old Dominion Group. Register by July 8th for free tickets. We have a limit of 3,500 attendees.
Books for all ages will be available in English and Spanish. In addition to books, enjoy these other activities at El Librotazo:
- Try out an obstacle course and bounce on big inflatables
- Create hands-on crafts led by the Children’s Museum of Richmond
- Play games led by Chesterfield Parks and Recreation
- Enjoy popsicles and popcorn
- Get up close to a fire truck, a police vehicle, and a school bus
- Chat with 20 community groups and vendors
