El Dominican Fiesta Hotel & Jazz en Dominicana celebrarán, por decimoquinto año consecutivo, el Día Internacional del Jazz con un concierto de primerísima en su reconocido espacio, el Fiesta Sunset Jazz. Para el viernes 1ero de mayo el cuarteto del reconocido guitarrista Iván Carbuccia entregará una muy especial celebración musical por la llegada de la versión 2026 de la reconocida efeméride.
La actuación en vivo transmite una energía que las grabaciones no pueden igualar: la emoción de los músicos tocando juntos frente a una audiencia, sin repeticiones, es algo poderoso y emocionante para presenciar en persona. Y es exactamente lo que vivirá los que asistan a disfrutar de El Evangelio del Funk según Iván Carbuccia. En esta funky noche estará acompañado Hedrick Báez (teclados); Bryan Paniagua (batería); y Bely Junior Belijunior Hogan (bajo)

El funk es un género musical que nació entre mediados y finales de los años 1960, cuando músicos fusionaron soul, jazz, ritmos latinos (mambo, por ejemplo) y R&B dando lugar a una nueva forma musical rítmica y bailable. Como buena parte de la música afroamericana, el funk suele construirse sobre un groove complejo creado a partir de instrumentos rítmicos como la guitarra eléctrica, el bajo eléctrico, el órgano Hammond y la batería, que tocan ritmos entrelazados. Música de agrupaciones de funk puro como Kool & the Gang; Earth, Wind & Fire; Funkadelic; a los de jazz-funk, entre estos: Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Billy Cobham, The Crusaders, Eumir Deodato, y George Duke.

The Dominican Fiesta Hotel & Jazz en Dominicana will celebrate International Jazz Day for the fifteenth consecutive year with a top-notch concert at its renowned venue, Fiesta Sunset Jazz. On Friday, May 1st, the quartet of acclaimed guitarist Iván Carbuccia will deliver a very special musical celebration for the arrival of the 2026 edition of this celebrated event.
A live performance transmits an energy that recordings cannot match: the emotion of the musicians playing together in front of an audience, without rehearsals, is something powerful and exciting to witness in person. And that is exactly what those who attend to enjoy The Gospel of Funk according to Iván Carbuccia will experience. On this funky night, he will be accompanied by Hedrick Báez (keyboards); Bryan Paniagua (drums); and Bely Junior Hogan (bass)

Funk is a musical genre that emerged in the mid-to-late 1960s, when musicians fused soul, jazz, Latin rhythms (mambo, for example), and R&B, giving rise to a new rhythmic and danceable musical form. Like much of African American music, funk is typically built on a complex groove created from rhythmic instruments such as the electric guitar, electric bass, Hammond organ, and drums, which play intertwined rhythms. Music from pure funk groups like Kool & the Gang; Earth, Wind & Fire; Funkadelic; The event will feature jazz-funk artists such as Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Billy Cobham, The Crusaders, Eumir Deodato, and George Duke.
This event is officially registered and part of the 2026 International Jazz Day celebrations, endorsed by UNESCO, the International Jazz Day organization, and the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz!
