This week we have two special guests at El D! Max Stasi from Milan, Italy will be coming back to DJ for us for the evening!! He's delighted us with his music before, and we're very happy to have him back!!
For the class that starts the milonga, we're happy to welcome Andrei Fleurasu teaching with me, Tova! Andrei and I have known each other since our pre-NY days, having met and danced for the first time at the Sitges Tango Festival in Spain in 2005. Andrei hasn't taught tango in years, but as any of you who've danced with him know (he's a regular at El D!), his tango knowledge remains solid. In fact, just this week at El D, a follower told me out of the blue how lovely it is to dance with him! Come find out why, and explore some tango with us! Class is 5-6pm, followed by a guided practica 6-7pm as the milonga begins, and it's all included in the $25 price, along with a happy hour drink at the bar! <3
More about Andrei:
Andrei started dancing tango around the year 2000 in Montreal under the guidance of Antonio Perea, Bulent Karabagli and Carol Horowitz. He later moved to France where he was the founder of the Four Season Milonga. As a New Yorker, Andrei enjoys dancing socially (and riding his bikes :)).
About Tova:
Tova has a deep history in US Tango, teaching for years in the tango festival circuit with Carlos Moreno, while building the tango communities in Baltimore and Boston, before landing in NYC to pursue a career in bespoke tailoring over the last decade. Now she keeps her tango chops through co-hosting El Destino, and is happy to be teaching again through these classes!
