Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop at the Dairy Barn Arts Center
About this Event
When was the last time you were moved by a work of art and wanted to share your thoughts on it? Come and join The Ohio Poetry Association at The Dairy Barn Arts Center for a generative workshop on ekphrastic poetry. We will learn about what ekphrastic poetry is, read a sample of ekphrastic poems from past and present, explore and engage with the works of art currently on view, and draft poems you are welcome to share. Led by Athens poet Shei Sanchez, this workshop is for anyone who wants to engage with art through their own words! This is an in-person event only.
Agenda
2:00 pm: Workshop presentation led by Shei Sanchez
3:00 pm: Gallery exploration, pick a piece(s) to draft a poem
4:00 pm: Share poems
The cash bar (beer and wine) will be open from 5 to 8 pm for those who want to continue writing and sharing their poems.
